About Us
Your neighborhood mechanic — no appointment drama needed
We opened Wash Ashore with one simple idea: car repair should feel less like a gamble and more like talking to someone who actually cares. You bring your car in, we look at it together, and we figure out what's needed — nothing more, nothing less.
Whether you're a year-round resident or just passing through on the ferry, we treat every vehicle like it's our own. Fair prices, clear explanations, and a shop that stays open when you actually need it.

What our neighbors are saying
We don't take ourselves too seriously — but we take your car very seriously.
"I pulled in with a check-engine light that had me worried. They figured it out fast, explained exactly what was wrong, and the price was exactly what they quoted — no surprises. I'll be back for sure."
Sarah M.
Vineyard Haven resident
"Best mechanic on the Island, hands down. They never try to upsell me on stuff I don't need, and they always get my car running like new. Fair prices and genuinely nice people."
James T.
Regular customer
"I was stranded with a flat and they got me in the same day. Quick, friendly, and they even checked my brakes while I was there — told me what was wearing thin before it became a problem."
